Grab And Disney Continue To Bring Magical Experiences To Millions Of Consumers In Southeast Asia

Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading everyday superapp, and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia (Disney) are bringing a slew of new Disney-themed rewards and experiences to the Grab platform for consumers in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Since 2018, Disney and Grab have teamed up to bring the magic of Disney closer to millions in the region through exciting promotions and activities. These include a campaign which saw Grab consumers winning a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit New York Comic Con for the launch of Avengers: Endgame, introduction of Star Wars-themed GrabCars in selected markets, and exclusive Frozen 2 merchandise available via GrabRewards catalogue.

Now, both brands have designed more magical experiences that Grab users can look forward to in the coming months. For a start, Grab Platinum members will receive complimentary tickets[1], to eligible upcoming Disney theatrical blockbusters[2], such as Marvel Studios’ The Eternals. These tickets will be redeemable from the GrabRewards Catalogue.

Entertainment buffs and Disney fans in Singapore will be able to redeem Disney+ subscriptions[3] from Grab via Grab Challenges while those in Indonesia will be able to redeem Disney+ Hotstar subscriptions via Grab Subscription packages, GrabRewards, and Billpay promotion[4]. Our top driver-partners in Indonesia will also be receiving a special Disney+ subscription promotion. Consumers can look forward to upcoming blockbuster releases.

Grab and Disney will also be launching localised co-branded campaigns such as the year-end festive campaign where Grab users will be able to win exclusive Frozen and Toy Story merchandise that unlock an Augmented Reality experience[5]. More details on this campaign and upcoming ones will be shared soon.

In Thailand specifically, Grab launched a Marvel-themed nationwide gratitude campaign earlier in September, called  “Discover Your Power Within”,  to thank driver-, delivery- and merchant-partners, along with social sellers. Partners can stand to win co-branded premiums through a series of contests.

Grab has also just launched the “Mickey Loves Thai Food” campaign where Mickey & Friends will be celebrating Thailand’s rich variety of flavours and cuisines. As part of the campaign, a GrabFood package with discount vouchers for selected restaurants will be introduced for consumers to fully experience the adventure of Thai taste. Furthermore, consumers will receive a Mickey & Friends t-shirt upon each purchase of the GrabFood 99 Baht package.

“As Southeast Asia’s leading superapp, we pride ourselves on delivering engaging experiences for our consumers that complement their lifestyles. Building on our successful past collaborations, we are thrilled to be partnering with Disney for the long-term to create magical moments for our consumers, sparking their imagination and interest in locally relevant ways. We hope that the partnership will result in more opportunities for us to co-create exclusive and one-of-a-kind activities and campaigns that will delight both Disney fans and our consumers,” said Cheryl Goh, Group Vice President of Marketing, Grab.
