Singapore Airlines Launches Flight Pass To Offer Customers Greater Savings And Travel Flexibility

Singapore Airlines (SIA) today launched Flight Pass, a new product that will allow customers to make advance purchases of discounted bundles of flight tickets that can be used against future bookings.

Flight Pass will initially be offered on SIA services between Singapore and France, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. This includes the quarantine-free Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights1 from these destinations to Singapore, if their trip starts from Singapore. Flight Pass will be progressively expanded to other points in the SIA network.

The key feature of Flight Pass is its flexibility. Customers may lock in discounted air fares for multiple flights, and decide on their travel dates at their convenience, subject to seat availability. The travel can be customised based on parameters such as destinations, the number of flights, the travel period, and fare type.

The tickets in each Flight Pass bundle can also be shared with family members, friends, colleagues, or anyone else that the buyer chooses. This allows the travellers to enjoy cost savings by pooling together their travel.

Customers may purchase and manage their passes via SIA’s Flight Pass website at https://singaporeair.optiontown.com. Flight Pass is offered in collaboration with Optiontown, a US-based provider of innovative travel options.

Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Executive Vice President Commercial, Singapore Airlines said: “As more quarantine-free international travel flights become available, Flight Pass offers Singapore Airlines customers greater flexibility and options when planning their trips. It allows them to enjoy greater cost savings by pooling their travel, and tailoring it according to their preferences. SIA will continue to find innovative ways to add value and offer even better choices for our customers.”

More information on Flight Pass can be found in the Annexe A or at https://bit.ly/2RcoWsf.

Singapore Airlines’ Flight Pass

What is Flight Pass?

Flight Pass allows customers to pre-purchase multiple flight tickets at a discount, and enjoy the flexibility of deciding on travel dates and booking flights later. Customers get to enjoy greater savings with more flight tickets purchased in advance.

How does Flight Pass work?

Step 1: Tell us about your frequent flights

Customers can get started by choosing their preferred destination(s), number of flights, and number of flight tickets required.

Step 2: Customise the flexibility of your Flight Pass

Depending on the amount of flexibility needed, customers can decide on the travel period validity, advance booking condition, and fare type.

Step 3: Lock in your fare and buy your Flight Pass

Customers can pay in full upfront, and use their Flight Pass to book eligible flights whenever they are ready.

What are the benefits of Flight Pass?

Customers can lock in discounted air fares for multiple flights, and decide on their travel dates at their convenience. The travel can also be customised based on parameters such as destinations, the number of flights, the travel period, and the fare type. The tickets in each Flight Pass bundle can also be shared with family members, friends, colleagues, or anyone else that the buyer chooses. This allows the travellers to enjoy cost savings by pooling together their travel.

What features of Flight Pass can be customised?

Flight Pass can be customised based on the following parameters to suit our customers’ unique travel needs, be it for leisure or business.
• Travel zone: One or more destinations customers want to fly to.
• Number of travellers: Number of people who can share the Flight Pass.
• Number of flights: A round-trip booking for one traveller requires two flight credits.
• Travel period: The eligible period for flight departure.
• Advance booking: How early in advance a flight must be booked before travel.
• Fare type: Each fare type offers a different range of advance booking selection and Flight Pass conditions for flight changes and cancellations, frequent flyer miles, and more.

Are there any hidden restrictions or fees?

There are no hidden restrictions or fees to utilise Flight Pass. Customers can book any flight subject to seat availability and their selected Flight Pass conditions. Additional surcharges will not be borne by the traveller even if the market fare of a flight increases. The Flight Pass is governed by the conditions customers select at the time of purchase.
