M1 Limited (M1) has emerged as the winner of the Latency Experience Award in Opensignal’s latest Singapore Mobile Network Experience Report. M1 continued to maintain one of the lowest latencies globally and is the first and only operator to achieve an ‘Excellent’ score for Video Experience in Singapore.
M1’s network averaged a low Latency Experience of just 26.6 milliseconds, way ahead of competitors, highlighting a more responsive mobile network experience for M1 users. While network speed is often touted as the key measurement, network latency is what drives user experience. A critical measure of responsiveness of the network, low latency can offer users faster-feeling experiences when surfing the web, streaming videos and playing video games. Viewers may experience fewer dropped videos, and gamers may enjoy a lower ‘ping time’, which can often be the difference between winning and losing.
Adding to the achievement, M1 edged the Video Experience Award, scoring 75 out of 100 making it the only operator to achieve an ‘Excellent’ score in Singapore. This score was measured by Opensignal users on mobile devices, quantifying factors such as load times, stalling and video resolution over both 3G and 4G networks.
With 5G low-latency and high-throughput technology in development, the Opensignal report results highlighted that the ongoing improvements in M1’s latency performance, which is critical for the deployment and application of 5G rollout in Singapore. M1 is well-positioned to tap on its low-latency and highly-responsive network to provide the best network experience for customers of all walks.

M1 users just edged into the Excellent category, which starts at 75. Again, M1’s users enjoyed the most responsive mobile network with M1 winning Opensignal’s Latency Experience award.
