For those people who are looking to get the most out of life by moving to a new country, there’s a lot to balance. You want to be somewhere where you can have an excellent quality of life, but at the same time, you don’t want to have to pay crazy prices to enjoy it.

Luckily, there are some beautiful destinations in Europe where you can enjoy an incredible quality of life without having to fork out huge sums on your day to day expenses. Here are 4 European cities where you’ll find your money goes a lot further than you expected.

Budapest, Hungary

If you’re looking to live in a picturesque city that doesn’t charge all the world for a coffee and some breakfast (or anything else), then Budapest is high up on the list. As the capital city of Hungary, Budapest is well connected, with all the modern services you need, but it’s also got stunning architecture and beautiful landscapes.

The average cost of a regular cappuccino is about 465 FT (about $1.50), and the average one-bedroom apartment in the center of the city will cost you just over $500 a month. This represents excellent value for living in the heart of a beautiful European capital.

Valencia, Spain

If it’s sea and sand you’re after but still want to live the modern city life, then Valencia is an ideal location. Valencia is a beautiful, vibrant city, and it’s got some great weather to go with it.

The cost of living is also very good compared to the quality of life you can live and comes in much cheaper than Barcelona or Madrid. If you need some help with your finances, then loans with no credit checks can come in handy, but with these prices, Valencia is very affordable.

A regular cappuccino averages about $1.64, and you can find a city center one-bedroom apartment for around $750 a month.

Lisbon, Portugal

Another fantastic city on the Iberian Peninsula with a surprisingly low cost of living and high quality of life is Lisbon. The city has a beautiful rustic charm, although you may get tired of the never-ending hills! Lisbon is well connected throughout Portugal, and you’re never far away from a golden sandy beach.

Food and drink are particularly well priced in Lisbon, and you can pick up a regular coffee for around $1.55 although rent is a bit more expensive than some of the other cities on the list at about $970 a month for a one-bedroom city center apartment.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

For views, you’ll never grow tired of taking pictures of, you can’t go wrong with Dubrovnik. With its beautiful 16th century Old Town, sparkling blue sea, and lovely summer weather, Dubrovnik has a little something for everyone.

Your coffee and food might be a little more expensive than other cities on the list, with a cappuccino costing about $2.60, but rent is very manageable, with a one-bed apartment coming to around $750.
