Know Your Tree – NParks Launches Interactive Map Of Trees Across Singapore

Singapore is recently ranked as one of the top cities with most trees. It should not come as a surprise given that trees and greenery has been part of Singapore’s urban planning ever since; Dubbed as the ‘Garden City’, this was envisioned by then Prime Minister Lee Kwan Yew back in 1967. He wanted Singapore to be a city that is clean and teeming with plants that would make living more pleasant for its people.

To help us better understand our surroundings and learn more about the trees around us, NParks launched https://www.nparks.gov.sg/trees website. It maps around 500,000 trees all over Singapore. The website shows information about the species of the trees, how to care for it, it’s location and pictures.

We hope that this tool raise more awareness about trees and caring for our surroundings in general. Singapore is one of the few places in the world where anyone can enjoy a harmonious coexistence between urban living and nature. Let us take care of it for future generations and continue the good work of our pioneers.
